plotblock

Draw or set type,
export plotter-ready SVG.

Vector from the first stroke, any Google Font. A pen plotter or a cutting plotter handles the exported SVG without any clean-up — true to size, no transforms, no embedded images.

Everything in millimetres

A 50 mm line measures 50 mm in Inkscape. No conversion, no rescaling after the export.

What you see is what gets plotted

The canvas is the export document. Type shows as an outline, not as a typeface — that is exactly the path the pen follows.

Photograph a drawing

A photo of a hand drawing — from your phone, HEIC included — is traced and lands on the sheet ready to cut: thin strokes as single lines, painted shapes as filled areas.

Cut or draw

A cut line stays one path the blade runs once. A drawn stroke keeps the width of your pen. You decide per path, not per file.

Your machine’s format

Paper sizes A6 to A3 and the work area of the usual machines — AxiDraw, Brother, Cricut, Silhouette, xTool — or type your own dimensions.

Layers in plotting order

Outlines on one, detail on another: plot them one after the other and change the pen in between. Hidden layers stay out of the file.

Place it exactly

Drag a rectangle, an ellipse or a line, then set X, Y, width and height as numbers. Arrow keys nudge by 1 mm, with Shift by 10.

Guides that hold

Put a guide at a position you type in. Edges and centre snap to it, to the sheet edge, the margin and the grid — Alt drags past it. Guides never end up in the export.

Mirrored for iron-on

Flip the selection left to right or top to bottom, type included. Iron-on vinyl is cut mirrored so the lettering reads the right way round once it is pressed on.
